Celebration of the Voodoo cult and traditions of Togo
The celebration of the tenth edition of the National Voodoo and Traditions Festival of Togo, as well as the official inauguration ceremonies of the national president of the FNCVTT, took place in Lomé on January 7, 2023. This celebration is organized under the auspices of the National Federation of Voodoo Cults and Traditions of Togo (FNCVTT). The event was attended by high-ranking dignitaries and numerous delegations from different regions of Togo.
Under the theme: " Preserving and promoting Peace for the sustainable development of traditional religions ", this tenth edition sufficiently demonstrates how much the community of the Faithful of the traditional religion remains attached to the values of peace, social cohesion and living together, according to the newly elected president, Hounongan GNINOFOUN Akoété Kovi ASSOGBA. He is enthroned under the title of Hounongan GNINOFOUN Akoété SOTORE II.
"We have always explained that our deities are fundamentally linked to the land and it is not easy to move them. We must therefore create the necessary conditions of peace and tranquility among ourselves and also towards other religious denominations to avoid asylum and live on the spot ," SOTORE II suggested.
For the President of the Organizing Committee, ten years of commitment and sacrifice deserve honor and recognition. Nevertheless, he clarified, " let us recognize that the march continues and will not stop. Our time will pass, but other generations will perpetuate our missions in the service of the emergence of endogenous cults ." He concluded by wishing the new national president every success.
