Togo: Here are the conditions under which traditional festivals and rites can take place again

After two years of bans due to the health situation, the public celebration of various traditional festivals and rites can once again resume in Togo. The government gave the green light on Wednesday in a joint statement from the ministers of territorial administration and culture.

This resumption, which is mainly due to the slowdown in the spread of Covid-19, will nevertheless have to take place under certain conditions, the executive specifies. In particular, the presentation of proof of vaccination or even strict compliance with barrier measures (systematic wearing of masks, systematic washing and disinfection of hands).

“ In the event of a resurgence of cases, restrictive measures will be reintroduced ,” the government also warned.
