The Togo International Film Festival (FIFTO) replaces the Togolese National Cinema Week (SNCT)

After seven years of operation, the Togolese National Film Week (SNCT) is changing its name to the Togo International Film Festival (FIFTO). This announcement, justified by recent reforms in the film sector, was made on Thursday, June 6, during a press conference marking the launch of the 8th edition.

The event, themed "Togolese Cinema: From Industrialization to Profession," will be held from August 3 to 10, 2024, in Lomé. Like previous editions, it will be a gathering to showcase amateurs and professionals in the film and audiovisual industry.

This edition will feature two types of competitions: an international competition for feature films open to filmmakers from around the world and a national competition for short films, exclusively reserved for Togolese filmmakers. Côte d'Ivoire will be honored as the " guest country of honor ."

In addition, a new category has been introduced for workshop and school films, aimed at encouraging and promoting young talent and educational projects.

The "FIFTO 2024 Village" will be located at the Bas-Fond of the Collège Saint Joseph in Lomé. Film screenings will be held at various locations in the capital as well as in regional capitals, allowing for wide distribution and increased accessibility to the general public.
