Togo's National Fund for the Promotion of Culture Unveils the Results of its 2023 Call for Projects
In a press release published in the national daily Togo Presse on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, the National Fund for the Promotion of Culture in Togo announced the results of its call for projects for the year 2023. In total, 647 projects were selected and will be allocated a financial envelope of 300 million FCFA.
The detailed results reveal a balanced distribution of funds across various artistic categories. Performing arts, for example, stand out as the top performers, with an allocation of 133.9 million CFA francs for 323 selected projects. Cinema follows closely behind, receiving a budget of 51.9 million CFA francs.
The visual arts were also supported, with 36.45 million CFA francs awarded to 86 selected projects. As for literature, 23.15 million CFA francs were granted to 53 project leaders, illustrating the ongoing commitment to promoting reading and writing in Togo.
The areas of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Spaces also benefited from funding, with 21.2 million FCFA allocated to 49 projects and 14.4 million FCFA for 11 selected projects respectively.
These results demonstrate the National Fund for the Promotion of Culture's commitment to the diversity and richness of Togolese cultural heritage.
