Lomé's Gnassingbé Eyadema International Airport: Towards a New Era of Expansion
Following a successful rehabilitation in 2016, Lomé's Gnassingbé Eyadema International Airport (AIGE) is preparing to undergo major expansion work. Prime Minister Victoire Dogbé visited the airport on Tuesday, April 15, to assess the progress of the operation.
These expansion works, which include significant improvements to the terminal and parking areas, aim to increase the capacity of the airport infrastructure. The objective is to strengthen AIGE's position as a leading regional hub, thus facilitating air traffic in the sub-region.
Once completed, these improvements will streamline passenger traffic, whether departing, connecting, or arriving. This initiative is part of a drive to modernize and adapt to the growing demands of air travel.
It is worth noting that in 2024, the airport reached a significant milestone by recording more than 1.5 million passengers, a clear indicator of its dynamism and development potential.
