Empowerment of rural women: 265 market gardening kits distributed in Tabligbo
In Togo, the empowerment of rural women in the agricultural sector is gaining new momentum with the distribution of market gardening equipment kits to 265 women, carried out last weekend in Tabligbo. This initiative is part of the delayed celebration of International Women's Day, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, and benefited from the West Africa Food System Resilience Program (FRSP).
The main objective of this action is to strengthen the productive capacities of rural women and promote their economic autonomy. Kayi Aguey-Wognon, representing the Minister of Agriculture, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating: "This action helps to consolidate women's participation in the agricultural sector and improve their access to means of production."
In recent years, the Togolese government, with the support of its partners, has undertaken a broad policy to promote the empowerment of rural women. This approach aims to improve their economic and social situation, while recognizing their crucial role in the country's food security and sustainable development.
