Celebration of the traditional Aveza festival: a boost towards development

Last weekend, the people of the Avé prefecture rejoiced to the rhythm of their traditional festival, Avéza, during its 18th edition held in Badja. This event was attended by several officials, including the Minister of Culture, Yawa Kouigan, representing the President of the Council.

Under the theme: "Resolutely focused on the comprehensive development of decentralization," this edition highlighted the desire of local communities to combine their rich cultural heritage with aspirations for modernity and progress. Minister Yawa Kouigan declared: " This festival reflects the vitality of our cultural heritage and reminds everyone that decentralization and citizen participation are essential to building a harmonious and prosperous future ."

The festivities featured traditional dances and songs, as well as performances by folk groups. Customary rituals also took place, strengthening the bond between generations. Visitors enjoyed craft and cultural exhibits, showcasing the richness and creativity of the Ave communities.

The Minister of Human Rights, Pacôme Adjourouvi, son of Avé, underlined the importance of this event by stating: " Avéza is much more than a celebration, it is a bridge between generations, a moment that reminds us of the importance of preserving our identity while preparing for the future ."
