Celebration of the 7th edition of Dunenyo Zã in Greater Lomé

On Saturday, August 17, the Aflao, Agoè-Nyivé, and Bè communities of Greater Lomé celebrated the 7th edition of their traditional festival, Dunenyo Zã, in style. The event, held in Lomé, brought together numerous officials, including the Minister of Culture, Yawa Kouigan, representing the President of the Council.

This edition, placed under the theme of the promotion of women, youth and cultural development for social cohesion , made it possible to celebrate and transmit a rich intangible heritage. It also initiated concrete actions in favor of local emancipation. The Minister of Culture underlined the importance of this event: "The festival is not only a source of rejoicing, but also an opportunity for education, affirmation and cohesion. In our songs, in our dances, through our traditional outfits and our lais, there is an infinite cultural richness that nourishes the national heritage and forges our common future."

The festivities featured performances by folk groups, traditional dances, and craft exhibitions, showcasing local expertise and cultural diversity. These activities allowed participants to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Togolese traditions and strengthen ties between different communities.

Dunenyo Zã is an initiative of traditional leaders from the three communities originating from Greater Lomé. This festival represents a unique opportunity to celebrate cultural identity and promote solidarity between generations.
