Workshop to revitalize the Synergy of Civil Society Organizations on Land in Togo (SOFT)

Opening this Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Notsè, of the revitalization workshop of the Synergy of Civil Society Organizations on Land in Togo (SOFT). The workshop will be held over 2 days.

Since 2012, the NGO ADHD has been working with ILC to develop and implement the SNE. In 2013, it received financial support from its partner ILC to establish a network of civil society organizations involved in land issues in Togo. This network, called SOFT, was launched on March 21, 2013, with the holding of its founding General Assembly. The network's fundamental texts were adopted during this General Assembly.

Given the need to establish a multi-stakeholder platform on land governance in Togo, ADHD, with the technical and financial support of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), organized a day of reflection for certain CSOs from the maritime and plateau regions to reflect on an advocacy to be carried out with decision-makers so that the decree establishing and composing the Land Advisory Council (CCF) ensures that this council is multi-stakeholder. During this day of reflection, the participants put forward the idea of setting up a network of CSOs involved in land to bring together the demands of civil society. Hence the need to reactivate the Synergy of Civil Society Organizations on Land (SOFT) to constitute this melting pot, this platform of civil society actors solely to influence land governance in Togo.

Speaking on the issue of women's access to land in Togo, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) is supporting this initiative, which aims to revitalize the activities of the SOFT platform in order to position it as a credible interlocutor on this matter with governments, decision-makers and partners.

The overall objective of this workshop is to contribute to the emergence of the SOFT network as a key and credible player in responsible land governance in Togo.

It is also about consolidating the organizational and institutional capacities of the SOFT network, establishing an action plan for the network's interventions.

Remember that the workshop ends this Wednesday, July 31.
