Togolese company 'Daba' stands out with large-scale processing of organic chickens

Kpomé, [August 18, 2023] – The company 'Daba', based in Kpomé in the Zio Prefecture of Togo, is revolutionizing the large-scale processing of organic chickens. The head of government, Victoire Tomégah Dogbé, recently visited this company, which has become a major player in the country's agri-food sector.

The Prime Minister on a visit

Founded in 2021, 'Daba' specializes in the production and processing of chicken meat. With a breeding site in Kpomé Akadjamé and a slaughter and processing site in Kpomé Zeglé, the company has managed to raise up to 36,000 broiler chickens per cycle. Isidore Barcola, 'Daba's' Managing Director, proudly explained: "We have a production capacity of 500 chickens per hour, we slaughter up to 3,000 chickens per day, and we process some of them into charcuterie."

Daba's resounding success has seen its production increase sixfold in just two years, from 6,000 to 36,000 chickens. Building on this success, the company has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to reach the one million chicken mark and create even more local jobs.

With a view to promoting food self-sufficiency, 'Daba' fits perfectly with the vision of the Head of State. "Producing what we consume is our ambition, in accordance with the vision of the Head of State," stressed the Prime Minister, who welcomed and encouraged the initiative.
