Solidarity in Aképé: G Fashion and GR Club support 300 students

The G Fashion and GR Club organizations have demonstrated their commitment to disadvantaged children. On September 12, 2024, they handed out school kits to 300 orphaned and destitute students in the village of Aképé, located in the commune of Avé 2. The ceremony took place on the Aképé football field, during the final of the tournament they organized.

The generous event was attended by local figures such as the Mayor of Ave 2, Ayawli Kwaku, as well as the Managing Directors of G Fashion, Gerard Aklikokou, and GR Club, Yao Jacques Laba. Local authorities were also present to show their support for this noble initiative.

The donated kits include school uniforms, notebooks, pens, and other essential supplies to support these students, from preschool, primary, and secondary schools, in their 2024-2025 school year. Gérard AKLIKOKOU, CEO of G Fashion, expressed his gratitude to the authorities and partners who contributed to the success of this event. As an orphan himself, he shared his personal experience, explaining that his action stems from a deep desire to help children in the same situation as him, stating: " I am an orphan, and that is why I am committed to supporting orphans. I invite everyone, especially those who can afford it, to join this cause and support the children in their locality ."

Launched on August 30, 2024, under the theme " A smile for every child: School supplies for a better future ," the tournament brought together 10 local teams. After a close final, Frère d'Azza FC won the trophy by beating Pro Teams in a penalty shootout (2-0), after the score was level at the end of regulation time.
