Progress of the Modern Mother-Child Care Center Project in Togo

Togo is actively engaged in implementing the project to establish modern maternal and child health centers (MCHCs) in the country's five health regions. On August 22, Prime Minister Victoire Dogbé personally inspected the first project underway in Togblékopé.

Accompanied by a group of senior government officials, including health ministers, she held fruitful discussions with officials from ROK Development, which is responsible for the construction phase. She also expressed satisfaction with the satisfactory progress of the project.

Specifically, this new facility covers a total area of 21,925 m², including a built-up area of 9,352 m². Once completed, the facility will accommodate up to 186 beds and will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as MRIs, CT scanners, and various instruments needed to perform mammograms, ultrasounds, X-rays, and medical biology analyses including hematology, biochemistry, parasitology, and virology/immunology.

It is important to remember that the construction of these CSMEs is part of the commitments made by the President of the Republic for his new term. Within the country, the centers will be located respectively in Tandjouaré (Savannes region), Guérin-Kouka (Kara region), Sotouboua (Central region) and Amou-Oblo (Plateaus region).

Once operational, these centers, implemented by the National Institute of Health Insurance (INAM), will significantly strengthen national initiatives aimed at improving neonatal health.
