New partnership for the promotion of grassroots sport in Togo

To strengthen the development of sports among Togolese youth, the Togolese Ministry of Sports and Recreation has formalized a partnership with the Christian NGO Compassion International Togo. Minister Lidi Bessi-Kama and Compassion International Togo's national director, Koffi Ahonon, signed the agreement late last week, marking a new chapter in the promotion of sports at the grassroots level.

This strategic alliance aims to stimulate the practice of sports activities, support the development of talent in all sports disciplines, and collaborate on the construction of dedicated infrastructure. It also aims to establish a fruitful exchange of experiences between the two institutions.

Koffi Ahonon, the national director of Compassion International Togo, highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating: "This partnership demonstrates our shared desire to place youth sport at the heart of our priorities, to offer them opportunities to grow in health and education, and to participate in the development of our country through the practice of sports."

Minister Lidi Bessi-Kama also expressed her satisfaction, stressing that this collaboration "consolidates the exchange of services for the benefit of young people, whom we have a duty to support on the right path, and sport remains one of the most effective means."

Compassion International Togo, as a Christian NGO, is recognized for its commitment to the development of children living in extreme poverty. This partnership is a continuation of their collective efforts to improve the lives of young Togolese people, emphasizing sports as a vehicle for physical, educational, and social growth.

This new milestone in the promotion of grassroots sport in Togo demonstrates the willingness of the authorities and non-governmental organizations to work together to provide opportunities for young people, thereby promoting their development and contributing to the overall development of the country.
