Mali triumphs in the 29th edition of the Togo cycling tour

After six days of intense competition, the 29th edition of the Tour Cycliste du Togo concluded this Sunday, June 9. The final stage, which took place between Vogan and Lomé, was followed by a 30 km closed criterium in the capital, bringing this exciting edition to a close.

Mali emerged as the clear winner of this edition, both collectively and individually. Malian cyclist Yacouba Diallo dominated the competition, winning three of the six stages. He also claimed the yellow jersey, symbolizing first place in the general classification. Diallo completed the 702.2 km tour in 19 hours, 23 minutes, and 37 seconds, displaying a remarkable performance throughout.

Togolese rider Nyouleleng Tchalem also shone, finishing fourth in the final stage and placing tenth in the individual overall standings. His performance was hailed by many observers as a positive step for Togolese cycling.

This edition of the Tour Cycliste du Togo brought together cyclists from diverse backgrounds, offering a high-level sporting spectacle and highlighting the growing importance of this event in the region's sporting calendar.
