Kokou Ekouagou: a Togolese artist in the spotlight in Paris

The ART HERITAGE CULTURE Association, under the leadership of Mrs. Atafèinam BELEI, wife Kadanga, continues to promote art and culture in the era of globalization. As part of its "Promotion of the International Career of Artists of the ART HERITAGE CULTURE Association" (ProCIAA-AHC) program, the association recently appointed International Artist and Cultural Consultant, Kokou Lolonyo Ekouagou, as Technical Advisor.

Since June 16, 2021, Kokou Ekouagou has been using his extensive experience in the field of Visual Arts to advise the association's Executive Board. His main mission is to develop strategies and career plans aimed at promoting the international careers of member artists.

In this dynamic, Kokou Ekouagou is participating in the artistic carousel exhibition to be held in Paris, at Espace Gustave, from October 23 to 27, 2024. He will be accompanied by eight other visual artists, all members of the ART HERITAGE CULTURE Association, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Culture of Togo. The artists represented include Pakaï Panèssè Bamazi, Pintou Agba, Essowè Hassou, Kossi Aklobessi, Mébinesso Tagba, Kossi Kwavedjie from Togo, as well as Winoc Boton from Benin and Kwaku Afezuke from Ghana.

In this exhibition, Kokou Ekouagou presents his series of works entitled NO BORDERS/SANS FRONTIÈRES , a creation he began in 2020, inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. This series aims to remind us of the importance of unity in the face of global challenges. According to the artist, human crises, such as COVID-19, know no borders, and it is essential to come together to overcome obstacles.

“We have an obligation to wake up ourselves to awaken others. Together, in international solidarity, we can overcome all evils,” says Kokou Ekouagou. He emphasizes that every individual has a role to play in improving our world and that acts of love are necessary to get through difficult times.

The exhibition in Paris was also an opportunity for Kokou Ekouagou to distinguish himself, as he won third place in the public vote, a testament to the impact of his work and his message.

Through his works, Kokou Ekouagou embodies the idea of a territory without borders, a symbol of international solidarity and unity. His artistic and humanitarian commitment contributes to making art a vector of peace and understanding between peoples.

Together, with everyone's contribution, we can dream of a better future, where art and culture play a central role in building bridges between nations.
