July 17, 2025 declared a holiday for municipal elections in Togo
In Togo, July 17, 2025, has been declared a paid holiday throughout the country. This decision, announced by the ministers responsible for territorial administration and labor, is due to the municipal elections scheduled for that day.
This measure aims to enable citizens to fulfill their civic duty by turning out in large numbers to elect their local representatives. The authorities are thus encouraging the population to actively participate in the electoral process, ensuring that every vote counts in the selection of elected officials.
It should be noted that on Monday, July 14 , the defense and security forces already voted in advance, in accordance with the established electoral calendar and the provisions in force. This initiative aims to ensure that all members of the security forces can exercise their right to vote without hindrance on election day.
As a reminder, the election campaign ends this Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. across the country. Authorities are calling on voters to prepare to make their voices heard in this crucial election for local democracy.
