Joint mission of the Secretariat of the SUN Global Movement and Expertise France for nutrition in Togo
As part of the implementation of the EU4SUN Project, funded by the European Union and carried out in seven WAEMU countries, the Secretariat of the Global SUN Movement and Expertise France conducted a joint mission to Togo. The mission aimed to meet with international institutions on the ground, the ministries responsible for nutrition and food, and civil society organizations (CSOs) that are members of the Alliance for Nutrition in Togo (ANT). The meeting took place on Wednesday, June 21, at the JVE NGO office in Tokoin Casablanca, Lomé.

The objectives of this meeting were multiple. These included informing ANT members about the latest news from the global SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition) movement, the movement's 3.0 strategy and its implications for the country, and civil society governance. Participants were also able to learn more about the content of the European Union's EU4SUN project and its working strategy.
The discussions also focused on the dynamics and challenges facing civil society working in the field of nutrition in Togo. A roadmap was developed for a unified civil society, including technical support needs and monitoring of commitments made by the various stakeholders. The work resulted in a consensual roadmap to be implemented within three months.

Mr. Maxwell Evenunye KUMESSI, Executive Director of the NGO CADR and Secretary General of the Alliance for Nutrition in Togo, welcomed the participants before inviting them to actively participate in the discussions. Ms. Judith Kaboré, from the SUN Movement Global Secretariat, emphasized the importance of this meeting for the CSO members of the Alliance for the Promotion of Nutrition in Togo. She also urged civil society to respect the principles of good governance contained in the CSO guide, with a particular emphasis on accountability, inclusion, and transparency.
For her part, Ms. Valérie Greffeuille, head of the EU4SUN Project at Expertise France, has committed to contributing to civil society for institutional and organizational strengthening.
In addition to civil society, the mission will also meet with ministries of health and grassroots development as well as international institutions such as UNDP and UNICEF during the week.
