Celebration of the 65th anniversary of Togo's independence

Togo is preparing to celebrate the 65th anniversary of its independence on Sunday, April 27. As every year, this commemoration will be marked by a series of activities throughout the country. Here is the official program of festivities.

Tuesday, April 22

In Dapaong

  • 9 a.m.-11 a.m .: Laying of the foundation stone of the solar power plant by the President of the Republic or his representative.

Wednesday, April 23

In Lomé

  • 9am-1pm :
    • Inauguration of the pharmaceutical factory at PIA (Adetikopé Industrial Platform) by the President of the Republic or his representative.
    • Inauguration of Nutrisource at PIA by the President of the Republic or his representative.
  • 3 p.m .: Laying of the foundation stone of the Interceptors (Water) project by the President of the Republic or his representative.

Thursday, April 24

In Lomé

  • 9am-1pm :
    • Inauguration of Vivace (aluminum frames) at PIA by the President of the Republic or his representative.
    • Laying of the foundation stone of the textile factory in PIA by the President of the Republic or his representative.
  • 3 p.m .: Inauguration of the Kekeli / Djidjolé service center by the President of the Republic or his representative.

Friday, April 25

In Lomé

  • 8 a.m .: Catholic Mass
  • 9 a.m .: Protestant service at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Togo (EEPT)

    • Laying of the foundation stone of Datcha University by the President of the Republic or his representative.

  • 10 a.m.-11 a.m .: Conference paying tribute to the great figures of independence at the Palais des Congrès.
  • 3 p.m .: Decoration ceremony at the Palais des Congrès.
  • 6 p.m .: Rekindling of the flame of independence by the President of the Republic.
  • 6:30 p.m .: Final of the National Festival of Traditional Dances (FESNAD) at CETEF.
  • 7 p.m .: Torchlight Procession – Light Show.

Sunday, April 27

In Lomé

  • 6 a.m .: 21 salvo shots.
  • 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m .: Military, paramilitary and civilian parade (set up at 7:30 a.m. at the Place des Fêtes).
