AMD, IFD and JEAD provide school kits to disadvantaged children in Amouzougankopé
The consortium of organizations IFD (Women's Initiative for Development), AMD (Development Hands Association), and JEAD (Young People Engaged and Active for Development) has launched a school supply collection to help disadvantaged children for the start of the school year. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on low-income parents who are facing widespread price increases.
On September 15, 2023, the consortium went to the commune of Lac3, more precisely to the village of Amouzougankopé, to distribute school kits to 25 children from the women's group "La main de la femme". The distribution began with an awareness session for parents on the importance of their involvement in their children's academic success. The children were also made aware of the importance of maintaining their school supplies throughout the year and, above all, of working hard at school.
The executive director of the NGO IFD (Totine KOLANI) reminded parents that obtaining school supplies does not guarantee their child's success. She emphasized the importance of their involvement in their children's school life, such as getting to know teachers and supervisors, as well as their active participation in homework. The coordinator of AMD (NABROULABA Tém Reine) added, reminding children of their responsibility in maintaining their school supplies.
Each child received their kit according to their grade, and the meeting ended with joyful singing. The consortium made a commitment to the beneficiaries, stipulating that they must succeed and move up to the next grade at the end of the year.
This initiative by this consortium of organizations is a shining example of solidarity with those most in need. It provides these disadvantaged children with the tools they need to succeed in their school year while also relieving pressure on their parents. We hope this initiative will inspire others to engage in similar initiatives to help those most in need.
