Accreditation of new ambassadors to Togo
The President of the Republic, Jean-Lucien Kwassi Lanyo Savi de Tové, received the credentials of the new ambassadors of the United Kingdom, the Philippines, and Italy on Wednesday. The ceremony took place in Lomé, marking a symbolic moment of strengthening diplomatic relations.
Ambassadors Robert John Marshall (United Kingdom), Mersole Jala Mellejor (Philippines) and Laura Ranali (Italy) were welcomed by the Head of State, where they had the opportunity to discuss opportunities for cooperation between their respective countries and Togo.
Robert John Marshall expressed his commitment to strengthening economic and trade relations, aimed at facilitating public investment in the private sector and promoting job creation.
For his part, Mersole Jala Mellejor emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of services and logistics. He highlighted the Philippines' expertise in the services sector, while recognizing Togo's strategic potential as a logistics hub for air and maritime transport.
Finally, Laura Ranali stated that Italy wishes to strengthen its collaboration with Togo, particularly in the areas of security, economic and cultural development, through various exchange programs.
