CDEJ-Methodist of Kévé/Togo fights against gender-based violence and child abuse

The NGOs FEDIA and FELEADEC officially launched the project to protect young girls from early or forced marriage. This ceremony took place in Togblékopé in the commune of Agoènyivé 4, which is affected by this project, as well as the commune of Agoènyivé 6 (Adétikopé). Several women and authorities took part in this activity. Indeed, this project follows an observation in the communes of Agoènyivé 4 and Agoènyivé 6. The post-COVID period is very difficult for the young girls living there. Vulnerability and poverty have worsened the situation of these young girls forced into early marriage. Some parents and difficult living conditions force these girls to marry early or forced by their guardians or society. Religion, culture, and certain customs lead parents to turn to this harmful practice for the young girl. However, early marriage unfortunately has dire consequences for the future of these girls, their families, the families they will build, and society as a whole. It is therefore to stem or reduce this phenomenon that these two Togolese women's civil society organizations have initiated this project. As a reminder, this initiative is made possible thanks to the financial support of the UAF. The goal is to involve religious leaders, local administrative officials, village and community leaders, etc., in this fight. This project will raise awareness among all stakeholders involved in this phenomenon. It is also about ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Children's Code. Finally, it is also a place to show those concerned, that is, the girls, what recourse is available in such situations. 3:19

He draws inspiration from his origins and his experiences to create his compositions and offer lyrics that touch humanity in his albums. Love, advice, hopes, and morals…. Soon, he will release a new single entitled "Bomakparõ," which means: "the West lies"… In this single, Aziz Ayawo wants to raise awareness that we should not believe everything but that we must build our own opinions. He wants to raise awareness of current issues among his family, his children, the people around him, and Africa. Also, it's about not letting ourselves be conditioned but living our own experiences while respecting others. As for his future project, he plans to help the Togolese population by building a sociocultural educational center. He also wants to help the local population by offering artistic, cultural, agricultural activities and why not support people in their professional integration. He also wishes to develop artistically, create his group in Togo for his third album and succeed in making a living from his music. The particularity of the single which will be released this August 2, 2020, is the style he proposes (gabara systèm, the divinity of iron) inspired by his ancestors. And the message he wants to convey can be summed up as: "stop lying to us" and telling us anything", in reference to politicians.
